837 BEATTY STREET

SIZE: 44,000 SF
Value: $17,000,000

As part of research projects being funded by the government of British Columbia, we’re working with the innovative team of Reliance Properties, office of mcfarlane biggar architects + designers, and Fast+Epp Structural Engineers, on one of twelve mass timber demonstration projects. The $4.2-million investment will help accelerate the adoption of mass timber building systems by supporting the incremental or first-time costs of design development, research, permitting and construction activities.

837 Beatty Street is a historical warehouse located in the Stadium District. The oversized structure was originally designed to facilitate a four level vertical addition, in light of that, ETRO Construction is set to repurpose the building for commercial office spaces in an effort to protect, enhance, increase and densify employment spaces in the city. The 4 storey addition will be constructed with the primary use of mass timber and concrete. With a focus on sustainability, the project will optimize offsite prefabrication in order to reduce site waste.

Construction kicked-off in early 2023, with completion targeted for 2025.
