402 W PENDER EXTERIOR REVITALIZATION

Size: N/A
VALUE:
$3,840,000
Completion: 2022

Located on the prominent corner at the intersection of West Pender and Homer Streets, 402 West Pender showcases Vancouver’s heritage, with it’s Edwardian era ornamentation. Designed in the Chicago School style, the brick, stone, and terra-cotta exterior displays the high quality and craftsmanship of the early 20th Century, and in honour of keeping craft alive ETRO Construction restored 402 West Pender to its former glory.

Partnering up with our return client Reliance Properties, our team took on a large exterior upgrade of the building, including the removal and installation of a new cast stone balustrade stabilized by new structural steel strongbacks along the North & East elevations of the roof. ETRO undertook Window & Hardware Rehabilitation of the 7th and 8th floor windows, along with the repointing of the brick facade on all elevations, all while ensuring to adhere to the Heritage components of the building. Our goal was to not only turn over this project to exceed the stakeholders expectations, but to minimize the impact on the tenants that were currently working within the building by means of constant communication and planning.
