UBC SOUTH CAMPUS WORKS YARD
vaLuE: $2,600,000
ETRO has been selected to deliver Construction Management services for the redevelopment of the UBC South Campus Work Yard, a multi-phase infrastructure project across three operational sites: the Warehouse Yard, Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), and Nursery Road. Designed to support the evolving operational needs of the University of British Columbia, the project emphasizes sustainability through minimal tree loss and responsible stormwater management.
Each site will remain active throughout construction, requiring ETRO to implement detailed logistics planning that prioritizes safety, access, and maneuverability for large vehicles. At the Warehouse Yard, work includes installing a new concrete pad with underground services for diesel tanks, relocating and expanding refueling infrastructure, and integrating EV charging and CNG stations.
The MRF scope includes building covered and uncovered material bays, a semi-enclosed manual wash bay, updated fencing and gates, and relocation of key utility units. At Nursery Road, a new bi-directional weigh scale, associated grading and paving, and potential signage enhancements round out the improvements.
This technically complex project underscores ETRO’s expertise in phased construction within live environments, balancing operational continuity with infrastructure upgrades to support UBC’s long-term campus operations strategy.
