PEOPLE + CULTURE COORDINATOR

 

THE ROLE

We’re a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to excellence in our industry. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People + Culture Coordinator to join our team. This role will be pivotal in supporting our People & Culture Manager in various HR initiatives and fostering a positive work environment for our team. With an initial focus on recruitment and selection, policy writing, and organizing data, this role also offers the flexibility to take on unique tasks and responsibilities. Here’s what you’ll get up to as the People + Culture Coordinator:

  • Working directly with and reporting to the People & Culture Manager regarding all HR endeavors.

  • Supporting People & Culture Manager in educating employees on and enforcing company policies.

  • Assisting in the full hiring process of employees, including recruitment, interviews, verifying work-history and references, and tracking of new possible candidates in HRIS. As well as support in the execution of all employee termination procedures.

  • Working with People & Culture Manager and Brand & Communications on planning and attending industry events, career fairs and networking events.

  • Assisting ETRO’s administrative team, Brand & Communications, and People & Culture Manager with planning internal events.

  • Preparing and organizing internal training and development courses, presentations and workshops.

  • Supporting People & Culture Manager in maintaining relationships with industry partners and school districts to participate in local community events, co-op opportunities and practicums.

  • Help with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, tracking tenure milestones, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate persons.

  • Organizing, maintaining and updating employee HRIS information as needed.

  • Supporting People & Culture Manager with administering and tracking awards, gifts & additional company perks that are awarded to employees.

  • Working with People & Culture Manager to monitor ETRO’s internal performance management program and communicate milestones and deadlines to the team.

  • Helping ensure payroll processes are correct.

  • Fostering positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface in a confidential matter.

  • Making sure all employee records are filed correctly and kept confidential.

  • Abiding by company-enforced People & Culture processes and current employment laws and regulations.

  • Under the leadership of the People & Culture Manager, being a vital source of human resources information, answering any questions employees may have.

  • Supporting any other special projects the People & Culture Manager needs assistance with.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

On top of your passion to work in a growing business full of professionals in the trade, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Proven 3-4 years experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position.

  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.

  • Strong ability in using Google Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Slides etc.).

  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (e.g. ADP).

  • Ability to work with ATS software.

  • In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities.

  • Familiarity with social media recruiting.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle data and information with confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or relevant field; additional education in Human Resource Management is an asset.
