MEP MANAGER
THE ROLE
The Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Manager at ETRO is a key player in our dynamic Operations Team. As our MEP Manager, you’ll lead the optimization, coordination, and installation of cutting-edge mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. With your vast project management expertise, you’ll tackle everything from design reviews and constructability assessments to value engineering and orchestrating complex systems—all while collaborating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to bring visionary projects to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Here’s what you’ll get up to as the MEP Manager:
Corporate
Assist in the development of process and procedures as they relate to MEP systems preconstruction, design-assist and installation
Collaborate with Project Directors, Purchaser and Prefabrication Manager on the development of Direct Procurement, Prefabrication and LEAN Construction
Assist ETRO’s Strategic Initiatives Manager in the development of an ETRO commissioning standard
Act as an advisor to project teams on issues related to MEP systems
Pre Construction Phase
Complete constructability reviews of MEP system project documents
Provide value engineering options for MEP system project documents
Assess project documents for potential risks and limitations
Work closely with the ETRO VDC Team to identify and eliminate clashes
Provide input to and review scopes of work for MEP subcontracts
Provide input to and review project schedules to ensure accurate timelines for MEP system installation
Identify early opportunities to implement pre-fabrication assemblies
Identify project procurement needs by collaborating with the ETRO Pre-Construction and Estimating teams
Construction Phase
Collaborate with Procurement Manager to source mechanical, plumbing and electrical fixtures and equipment
Collaborate with Project Directors to maintain project deliverables and schedules
Identify long lead delivery equipment
Review project documents and onsite installation to ensure MEP systems meet applicable codes and safety standards
Work with subcontractors and designers to optimize installation of HVAC systems, piping configurations and other MEP systems
Assist project teams in problem solving and closeout of Consultant Site Reviews
Complete pricing reviews on internal and external change pricing from MEP trade partners
Commissioning & Project Closeout
Assist in the planning and execution of the systems start-up and building commissioning process
Attend project-level commissioning meetings and support project teams in tracking the status of the start-up and commissioning process
Complete post-construction reviews and lessons learned
Work closely with ETRO’s Quality Manager and Project Teams to develop and present lessons learned on each completed project

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
On top of your passion to work in a growing business full of professionals in the trade, here’s what we’re looking for:
8+ years experience in project management and design or coordination of MEP systems
Strong understanding of applicable building, plumbing and electrical codes
Basic understanding and interest in LEAN construction and prefabrication of MEP elements
Understanding of IMIT Systems is an asset
Proven hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or plumbing engineering or related field or Red Seal Certification combined with a BCIT Diploma in a related field
Knowledge and experience working with Procore, Navisworks, cmBuilder, Assemble
Proficiency in Google suite, with the ability to easily learn new software
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, with ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strategic planning and business development skills
Outstanding teamwork skills
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Salary range
$140,000 - $150,000
