UBC Totem Park’s Coquihalla Commonsblock was refreshed with a complete ground-floor renovation of its lobby, offices and security reception area. The new space combines custom millwork, glazed walls, upgraded lighting and flooring with carefully integrated First Nations and Indigenous artwork, creating a more welcoming arrival point for students, faculty and visitors.

The challenge was delivering the work on an aggressive summer schedule inside a busy, fully operational campus building. ETRO started early, securely separated construction from building users and shifted disruptive demolition to early-morning windows to reduce impacts during classes and exams. That careful phasing kept the building functioning while the team transformed one of its most heavily used common areas.
