THE ROLE

Joining a dynamic work environment, as a Carpenter you will complete any required carpentry related tasks, including formwork, framing, blocking with an eye for detail and ability to provide clear verbal and written communication and reporting with the project team and subcontractors on site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Here’s what you’ll get up to as a Carpenter:

  • Perform all on-site carpentry tasks, such as backing, blocking, formwork, and framing

  • Cut, shape and manipulate wood and other building materials

  • Create layout of floor plans and walls according to drawings

  • Ability to use all applicable tools and equipment

  • Interpret drawings and specifications 

  • Plan timeline and meet deadlines

  • Train and mentor apprentices and labourers

  • Display willingness and ability to move between sites and work with several ETRO team members

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

On top of your passion to work in a growing business full of professionals in the trade, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Certified Journeyman Carpenter or equivalent non-ticketed experience

  • Minimum of 3 years carpentry experience with framing and formwork

  • Experience working on high-rise, mixed use, commercial and institutional projects an asset

  • Experience reading blueprints and construction drawings

  • Comfortable using app-based software

  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC Standards and policies an asset

  • Ability to travel to projects across Greater Vancouver
